To Enlightened Homemakers Everywhere.....

Enlightened Homemakers of America, Uncle Sam needs you! Are you listening? Are you reading and watching debates? Do you know the issues and what is at stake? Now is not the time to stand by idly. No election in our time has been so important and we must voice our opinion. We cannot let others decide for us. I hope all of you are registered voters. I pray and hope that you all will show up to the polls. I hope that you know the issues and know what we need as a country. I am scared to death of what is going on. I am mostly scared that people aren't paying attention. So, to you I make the plea. Vote. Vote for morality. Vote for freedoms and less government. Vote because you want God in our country. Both candidates have good things to say and if you just listen to their candy coated promises, both look like they will save the world. However, actions speak louder than words. If we are known by the company we keep, then Mr. Obama must NOT be allowed to be our leader. His closest friends are a terrorist who bombed the pentagon, politicians who ran Fanny Mae and Mac to the ground and his church leader who is one of the most radical racist on the planet. This is the church Mr. Obama belonged to for 20 years. A church that blasted the government, our country and white people. It is a church of hate. You will certainly not hear much about this by the media as they are mostly left wing liberals themselves. You need to do your research. This is a man that will push for gay couples to have the same rights as those who are heterosexual saying there would be "No distinction" between the two. Senator McCain may not be the everything we want, but , he loves our country, he has always been a moral man who knows what the Constitution means. That's who I want in my corner. There is no room for radicals. That is what destroyed so many other countries. Enlightened Homemakers, I beg, please become politically enlightened. Our votes will make a difference. You have 33 days to decide.

Shari, I agree 100% about the voting issues. We truly do need to do our homework and vote for the best person who will best represent our personal values.

I thought you would like to know though that the on the vice-presidential debate last night, both McCain/Palin AND Obama/Biden declared they are 100% AGAINST gay marriage. It was definitely eye opening for me because I always assumed that being dems, Obama/Biden would automatically be in favor of gay marriage.

While I agree with most everything you've said, I thought this was some interesting information that needed to be shared.

Mary Beth,

Thanks, I know what he said, and will ammend what I said, but Biden stated that they both support equal rights to those who are not married in the traditional way. It would give a couple who is not legally wed because of their gay preference the same rights as those who are wed. This is basically the same as letting them get married if they get all the rights.

To clarify a bit more, while Palin said that they would not deny letting a gay couple have freedoms such as being able to sign a contract together and have hospital visits which is fine by me, Biden said there would be No distinction between a gay couple and a heterosexual couple. He sees no difference. That is a step away from letting them have all the traditional marriage rights.

Shari, I don't know if there is as hard a push in AZ as there is in CA, but we have been basically commanded to use all time and resources we have to pass a proposition (prop 8) that will define marriage within the CA constitution as between one man and one woman only. The consequences for this initiative not passing will be far reaching and devastating to the family as we know it. I know there is a similar initiative in the state of AZ, and if you know the name of the initiative, I would encourage you to post it on your blog as well. These issues will be on the November ballot along with the presidential vote.

I think this is such a great post. I was nodding my head in agreement. From a conservative standpoint there are some compelling reasons to vote for McCain: abortion and appointing judges.

I been studying the constitution for the past few months. Even leaders like John McCain are not defending the consitution.

In the constitution group that I am a part of we have been debating within our group whether or not to support John McCain to try and keep Obama out. Or do we find a third party candidate that has the same constitutional values we do and essentially "throw away" our vote.

Prop 102 is the proposition on the ballot in AZ regarding a marriage being defined as one man and one women. The organization Yes for Marriage supports this initiative and you can volunteer for them. Their website is www.yesformarriage.com

Shari,

I have to agree with you 100%. For quite awhile I was wanting to just write someone in for Pres. on the Nov. ballot. After studying for the past couple of months I know now that I can't. I would rather have someone who I don't competely agree with on every issue than someone who will destroy our country completely & will make things legal that I completely disagree with. I just found your blog & am going to go searching for what you have to say on vaccines. I have 6 young children & have been an advocate for doing what's right for my children (not what's right for everyone else's & for the government) for a very long time now. After all, we do live in a free country still & have our own rights! It's our job to find out what those rights are & to have the courage to stand up for what we believe in. Good for you for standing up for your beliefs. I'm glad I found you!
