Just a little more....

For those who I may have offended with my editorial, I am truly sorry. This was not my intention. However, I do feel that sometimes we need to be a little blunt. That sometimes there are too many excuses, not enough truths. It is hard. It will be hard, but the benefits are so important. When I talk about eating right, it is not for the sole purpose of being "skinny". That is not the point. I know that appearances are not what makes the person. My statement of the overweight Americans is not referring to the extra 20-30 pounds that accumulate over the years, or maybe even a little more. I am talking about gross neglect of the body. Even people that eat really healthy can have extra pounds, likewise, many skinny people are some of the unhealthiest! I am pushing eating for your health, not getting into a size 2. I have repeatedly stated that this is a gradual change to be healthy . Those that are ready can read what they want and incorporate what they want. I am sorry but I write for those who want to hear. I write so that you will not be ignorant, that you cannot blame your upbringing for how you eat now. I want to give you the information so that you CAN be in control. I am a blunt person, I know that this will strike a nerve, however, I do have compassion, that is why I write. If I didn't ,why would I spend my time typing with no benefit to myself?

I agree with this! If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen!! We all need to take care of ourselves- Thanks for spending your valuable time to help all of us. I truly appreciate it. I'm trying to work out babysitting to be at the class- Sounds great!

We love you Shari! The truth is...."the truth hurts!" What you say is so true. David and I are astonished by how many overweight children there are. Parents are getting lazy and their children are paying the price for it. We appreciate your bluntness. May I quote Gordon B. Hinckleys father as it seems appropriate...to those who have been offended..."forget yourselves and get to work!"

The truth does hurt. Shari, keep up the great work. You really are making changes. It's amazing how many lives you have touched. I am so lucky to be related to you.

Hi... I came across your blog (not sure how) and I find it very informative. Would you mind if I posted your blog on my blog for my family/friends to read? I had to make my blog private a month ago because some random person (kind of like me)made a creepy comment. Anyway, if you're okay with it just comment back on this site, otherwise, I won't post it. Thanks for your insight...I too appreciate your bluntness - the truth isn't always pretty.

I love all the information and recipes you share. I'd love to get information from your class, but can't do mornings. Let me know where I can send you a check.

I get why you feel the way you do. I get how important it is to eat healthy. The only part I don't get is the harsh judgement of another human being. And I can't believe that we would use a Prophet of the church in such judgement. What happened to 'loving one another'? And I can see how one might want to remain anonymous in the light of such a harsh retort.

To Amanda,
I do not have your email so I will comment here- I have not used the prophet's words in my rebutal so I am not sure what that was about and if you are referring to the comment by Megan quoting Pres. Hinckely's father, I completely agree with her. We should all get to work. Also, I am not judging people, I am trying to motivate them. Sorry you feel this way. Fortunately, most of my readers understand this and have been very supportive.
